Ways to Prevent Insomnia

So, I bet everyone of us have experienced insomnia at least once, right? For those who never know what the hell insomnia was ( for real? ), insomnia happens when you have trouble in sleeping. Like, jet lag? Got the idea?

Okay.

So, as I grown up, I always faced this problem. Yes, I always need some time before really going to bed. Frankly saying, it will take at least an hour for me to sleep and it can extend to three hours sometimes. Somehow, as one who works, this is a big trouble for me. I need to go bed early and wake up early to get ready for work. Just imagine what will happen if I do not get enough sleep? Yes, I will be so damn tired and moody for the whole day.

Bad huh?

So here, I have come out with a thought to share my ways to overcome my insomnia. My insomnia, not yours. So, the risk of these methods to not work on you is still there. Okay?

1. Avoid eating too much for dinner.
Usually, I will have my dinner by 7p.m. sharp ( I encountered minor gastric so having meal on time is really important for me ). For dinner, I will only take about 1 senduk ( sorry I forgot the name when I wrote this ) of rice instead of two like I did during lunch. I eat a lot so yeah.

2. Avoid exercising.
People said exercising will make you feel energetic, so why did you want to become so energetic to go to sleep? Exercising will increase your metabolism so it is not a good idea to make a lompat bintang before going to sleep or you will be wide awake and need to purchase internet burung hantu to utilise your night. Such a waste.

3. Put away your gadgets.
Sometimes I do not. I will scroll over Twitter, Instagram and Wattpad first before sleeping. And this is actually a bad idea. When you played with your phone too much, your brain will stay awake and you will need time to sleep again. So, if you are having insomnia, put your phone under your bed.

4. Listen to soothing songs.
Sometimes it will help. Ballad songs are the most suitable songs to listen to. Do not ever try to listen to the upbeat songs like Panama or what. Instead of sleeping, I am worried you will be having a disco in your own room. No one want you to dance on your bed.

5. Stop imagining things
I used to imagine there were ghosts in my room. Under the bed, on the ceiling, inside te wardrobe and even inside the mirror. And having these kind of imagination make me refuse to sleep. So, nowadays, I always try my best to husnudzon and go to bed in ease. Stop imagining things and yes do not watch horror movies before you go to bed.

So, that is how I overcome my insomnia. How about you? What have you done to overcome your insomnia? Share me your thoughts in the comment section.

Thanks for reading!
